This course provides an introduction to the One Planet Living framework, a sustainability framework developed by Bioregional in the UK. The framework, which is based on 10 simple sustainability principles, is being adopted by businesses, organisations and local authorities across the globe.
You will be hosted by Carolyn Cox who led the creation of New Zealand's first One Planet strategy for Auckland's Unitec Institute of Technology.
This course is suitable for individuals, organisations and communities wanting to use the One Planet Living open resources. The course is open to the general public, community groups, business professionals, not for profits and Councils.
What to expect:
This course provides an overview of One Planet Living including the ten principles and Common International Targets. In this session we'll complete a series of activities which will help you engage others in developing indicators, targets and a simple One Planet Action Plan.
On completion participants will have knowledge of the One Planet framework including the vision, ten principles, and Common International Targets and understand how to develop their own targets and indicators and develop their own action plan.
You'll learn about the potential for voluntary use of the open source action plan and online resources, and the ability to gain endorsement under the One Planet Program.
Level of Knowledge / Skills Required:
A basic understanding of sustainability and climate change is desirable.
